Jealousy

​Jealousy.  My best friend in life, one of my brothers in life, someone I admire more than most of my own blood and kin.  (No offense y'all, …  really).  My former Best Man and his wife are off onto the road trip of their lives. Something that best friends do, more often than what a normal husband and wife would do.  3500 + or - a few miles, together in a SUV, pulling their little travel trailer.  From Miami to a high desert somewhere in the Northwest corner of Nevada.  For one of humanity’s  greatest spectacles of the primal desire; to form a community.  Albeit a short period of time, but a community that comes together for a common goal. A Utopian community, where, for once in your life, the common goal is peace and love and understanding.  A festival that encourages us to explore ourselves in hopes of discovering whom we (as a society) and individually are. To know thyself…blah blah blah. And these two people that I love dearly, are getting to experience that alone, together as one.   I love the, but I am so damn jealous of their adventure. 

The reason why I’m so jealous of course is because I love adventuring with my wife. We’ve had several together. I loved all of them. The good and the bad. We can’t wait to have another one together.  In fact, its going to happen for us come September, we have a wedding to attend in DC and we plan to play a little and explore a lot. Crystal and I have had plenty of remarkable adventures some intentional , some not so intentional, but we’ve come to love all of our experiences from those adventures.  Road trips of epic proportions are our favorite ways to grow together, stronger and deeper as a couple.  We learn about people, places, and things that make you say “huh?” 
 
My wife is my best friend. She’s my soul mate, truthfully my better half. Our road trips are the greatest moments of my life.  I love adventuring with her.  Now I get to read and follow Al and his wife Elizabeth as they post about this remarkable Journey of a lifetime. I’m so Jealous of you two.  I can’t wait to hear about your adventures and discoveries. Carpe Diem, kids.
